Turns out we still have this week and next week of school!!

[Home of the Tigers] Journey to the center of the earth

It was 2:00 in the morning and i was peacefully asleep when i heard a loud crash in our backyard,I opened my eyes very violently and walked towards my bedroom door.My father ran into my room right before i reached for the knob requesting me to go into the room next to me and check on my little sister.I walked in to find her on the floor crying calling for my mother who had died a few years ago in a car crash.She was holding out her hands trying to get me to pick her up and bring to my dad.After a few hours of silence i got a phone call from my friend Pete telling me that the whole city had last power and was at his aunts house and was hoping if he could stay with us.Sadly his dads car had a flat tire.So without power and having nothing to do,i decided to see what had landed in my backyard.I knew i would need a flashlight since the street lights weren't working.In just about complete darkness i tried to find my way to the back of the house,finally i got to the door leading to my yard,i made my way to what looked like the seen of the crash.My whole back yard was full of smoke,it was really hard to breathe,and suddenly i fell into what felt like and endless pit.Finally i hit something hard really hard and must have passed out.By the time i woke up i was in the middle of this empty space of dirt just nothing but dirt and the last time i checked it was two in the morning but,it was incredibly light where i was...where ever i was.I would have tried calling for help but some how i knew it wouldn't have been any good.Then out of no where i heard a loud roar come from above me,i looked up and saw something that i never thought i would ever see,it was a giant bird!!


My whole entire body had frozen with fear,and i knew if i didn't do something soon id be that birds next meal.I picked myself up from the ground and started to run in the opposite direction of the bird.I could tell that the bird couldn't see me from the way it looked i was small to him...extremely small.Then suddenly I huge black mass running straight towards me.I dropped on the ground like a slug and covered my head for protection even though if the giant thing did step on me it wouldn't do any good,my heart was pounding so loud i could hear it over the giants footsteps.Then suddenly I was forced into the air by some kind of force from beneath me and was in some kind of dark room or at least thats what i thought.Feeling like some kind of child's toy i was being carried in some kind of container for what i thought was a couple of hours.
then i was dropped into some kind of goo.I wiped my eyes off with my goo covered hands which didn't help very much.The situation was very serious,i didn't know where i was,there were things in this place that were...unnatural.And worst of all i had a headache,i knew if was gonna survive i would have to find a way out.I had to estimate how much i had spent in this hole,and i came out with about 3 hours.I wanted to get out of here more then any thing else and didn't care what i had to do to get out.Telling myself to get out of here was easier said then done.Starting to search for an exit would be my first priority my second would be to stay away from those things i saw earlier,and now that i had a plan i begin my journey to the surface.my face was soaking wet i wasn't sure if i was about to pass out or fall asleep from exhaustion,but whatever it was getting there.

I thought about my dad,and my little sister,i wanted to get out of here so badly thats i want is to get out and breathe fresh air.I layied down just to rest my eyes for a few moments when suddenly i huge hole appeared out of no where and the warmth of day light shined on my face i had did it!! i found my way out from the worst place on earth and now it was over.I crawled out of the hole and walked over to the nearest person and asked him where i was and for some reason he didn't answer,i yelled at him and he turned around violently and stared at me and said something in a foreign lanuguge i couldn't understand,and i said to myself that where ever i was it wasn't any where near my old hom in Texas!

[Home of the Tigers] A solution

there are a lot of ways to prevent wind erosion but, i think the best way is to plant trees and other kinds of plants like grass even planting small bushes would help.


So all i think people need to do is to plant more trees and grass and other plants.

[Home of the Tigers] living through the San Francisco earthquake.

My name is Daniel Cash I live with my two sisters in a little house just four blocks down from Oak street.....my younger sister is only 4 years old her name is Mary,and my older sister she's only 2 years older than me and her name is Elizabeth.Our father died when i was born ,we hardly ever saw our mother,she has to work two shifts to feed the three of us.It was a normal summers day when we started felling little tremors in the ground but that was normal sense we lived in this kind of area....I was in the house with Mary when we started to hear screaming coming from the streets after a few moments of silence we heard a big loud crash and then our whole house was full of smoke.I fell flat on my back after the dust cleared and started to search for Mary i had thought that she had hid in her room after hearing the loud crash......suddenly the ground began to shake again and I fell on my face.I could hear a scream coming from the other side of the room it was Mary yelling my name,I followed her voice sense another cloud of dust had swept through our house and as I felt a hand grab mine the ground began to shake again and again......and well again. until finally i just rolled up into the a little ball and prayed for my life,I knew i couldn't worry about Mary right now I had to worry about my self.You know how they say you see your life flash before your eyes before you die well thats just what happened to me I thought about how my dad would have been if I had the chance to meet him,or the time my sisters and I went swimming in the ocean i saw alot of things but the thing that really surprised me the most was that i never had any good memories about my mom.I guess i didn't really get time to get to know her any better than I do now,but that wasn't the issue at the moment.After what felt like an eternity but was really a few minutes the earthquake was over I tried to pick myself up but being on the ground for so long during that earthquake made me a little loose in the legs.Finally I picked my self up and started to look for Mary,a few moments later i heard a voice yelling my name "Daniel Daniel!" it sounded like Elizabeth and Mary! I brought my self to look outside to find the source of the yelling.....it was Elizabeth and Mary I saw the two of them running at me and trying to hug me so i went ahead and hugged them back.We looked at each other and laughed i don't really know why we were laughing but i guess after you are in a life or death situation you need something to laugh at."Is that all you want to hear?" "Well sir you have lived through three centuries don't you have any other stories that you'd like to tell us?" "did i mention i was on the Hindenberg when it blew up?".

[Home of the Tigers] New Law

I have put a lot of thought into this and when i was asked about having a law made by me i really didn't understand i mean how many times do you hear from your teacher "ok class now i want you to tell me what kind of law you would like to be passed" anyways i thought about how many schools aren't able to have recess or can't have art programs because of taxes and what not well not exactly taxes but school funds.So having lunch and math class to think about the subject,and I couldn't help imagine what it would be like if my school didn't have recess or art and P.E. and music.I really think that the people that tax us when we pay enough money in the first place, I mean really Wal-Mart is always saying how there prices are low if you want to buy 20$ worth of food but at Wal-Mart its like 50$ worth if food all im saying is that the Goverment should lower taxes and i know that most of the people reading this are thinking that peopl have already talked about the issue but no one has done a thing about it.Thats why i think that they should be lowering taxes instead of making them higher. so thats my law, and go ahead and......don't listen to the people that are always trying to change things and i don't mean the people that make new cars that have nicer leather seats, i mean the people that actually try to change something.

[Home of the Tigers] Investigate 4.

Before we poured the water on the soil it looked dry not extremely dry but still dry.After we poured the water on the soil it had little paths running through it and a small pool of water at the bottom of the tub so anyways thats is how the two stages of soil looked different.

The results changed from group to group because other groups poured the water in different places to start out with witch changed the amount of erosion they came out with in the second experiment.

Yes my hypothesis was correct because I predicted that the water would erode the water witch became runoff (water that does not soak into the ground and runs off into a bigger body of water) and the water that did not runoff became groundwater ( water in the ground).

[Colby's Blog] Investigate Two Summary

The first thing thing we did to start off the experiment was to put the sand in the tub .Then we mixed the sand with the gravel,clay and,humus.After we completely mixed the materials we were ready to pour the water into the tub with the materials.Soon with the mixture of mud and water it turned to runoff,but not all the water helped the mud erode.Some of the water mixed with the mud and therefore turned into groundwater
